"What Is WS_FTP?"

WS_FTP Pro is the fastest, most powerful Windows file transfer client available. With WS_FTP Pro, you can connect to remote FTP sites, browse through directories and files, and transfer files quickly and efficiently. Here I will show you how to set up and use your WS_FTP program. Please follow along.

1) The WS_FTP program will have an icon on your desktop. Double left click on it to open the program. I will be using the WS_FTP Pro not the WS_FTP Pro Explorer in this tutorial. A screen will come up which looks like this.

2) Left click on the MySites folder. Then left click on the button that says New. A screen will come up that looks like this

3) Make sure you have a black dot in the circle where it says FTP Site. Now you will type in the name of your site. I will be using Angelfire. So type in the site name you will be using and then click next.

4) A screen will come up that looks like this. Here is where you configure your site so you will be able to enter your file manager using the WS_FTP program.

5) For the Host Name or IP Adress you will put ftp.angelfire.com just like the picture above shows. This is the address which the WS_FTP will log into. If you were using Geocities you would then type in ftp.geocities.com. Now click Next.

6) Now you will be viewing a screen that looks like below. This is where you will type in your user ID and your password you use to access your site. Again I am using Angelfire in this tutorial so I will use my ID and password here that I received from Angelfire when I signed up with them. When you have finished typing in the information then make sure you put a check mark in the Save Password box. Now all is left to do is click Finish
