Adding An Address Book To Your Quick Launch Toolbar.

#1) The picture below shows the toolbar. The area in the red circle is called the Quick Launch Toolbar. This area is where we are going to add the address book.

#2) Left click on Start

#3) Left click on Program Files

#4) Left click on Accessories

#5) Left click on Notepad.exe

#6) A screen will come up that looks like this. At the top, it will say Untitled-Notepad. This is where you will type in the person and their e-mail address that you want in this address book.

#7) You will type in your e-mail address like the example below and skip one space between each persons name and address. (Hint: You may also open your e-mail address book and click edit/select all and then go back to edit and click copy. Then go to your notepad and right click then select paste.)

#8) When you are done adding all of your address you go to the word File, up on the left side of the window and left click on it.

#9) A screen drops down and looks like the one below. Left click on the words, Save As.

#10) A screen will pop up that looks like the one below. Where it says Save in:, I want you to go to the 'carrot' at the end of that box and left click on it once.

#11) You see a screen that has dropped down where you are able to search for the place you want to save this document to. We are going to save it to the Desktop. Now you left click on the word Desktop and it will show up in the Save in: box.

#12) See how the word Desktop shows in the Save in: box.

#13) We are now going to add the file name. In the File name box where it says Untitled, left click behind the letter d and backspace with your backspace button on your keyboard. When you have the word Untitled all erased, type in Address Book.

#14) When you are done typing in the file name you then left click save.

#15) This will place your document you just saved onto your desktop. You will now left click and hold the left mouse button down, and drag the file down into the quick launch toolbar area.

#16) Once you have done this, you will see your address book down in the quick launch toolbar area. In doing this you have made a shortcut and will be able to quickly bring up your address book when you need it. You now are able to move the address book file from the desktop and save it in another folder. I suggest saving it into 'My Documents' folder or one that you have made for yourself. This cleans up your desktop from clutter.
