"Computer House Cleaning"



When you surf the web, your web browser creates a cache. It stores everything on the website your visiting in this cache, such as: graphics, web pages, midi files, etc. onto your hard drive temporarily. The more files you write and delete and rewrite them, your hard drive becomes fragmented. I am going to show you how to house clean your computer.

1) We will first. Left click on Start, then point mouse to Program Files, point mouse to Accessories, point mouse to System Tools. Now left click on Disk Cleanup. Follow the pictures below to do this house cleaning job.











Now you have completed one part of this house cleaning job.


2) Now repeat all the instruction in #1 up to System Tools, but then click on Scan Disk.



Set the settings as I have shown in the picture below, and then click Start. When you are done click close.





3) Once again repeat all the instruction in #1 up to System Tools, but then click on Disk Defragmenter.



Make sure Drive C Physical drive is selected and then left click OK.





You have now completed the house cleaning jobs. You should do this at least once a month or more if you do a lot of surfing up on the internet.
